Pyramiden is an abandoned Soviet mining settlement located on the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, not far from Ny-Ålesund. The town was founded by Sweden in the early 20th century, before being sold to the Soviet Union in 1927. It was a thriving coal mining town until it was abandoned in 1998, following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
